You can finance the purchase of a Spanish Property with either a UK or Spanish mortgage. Mortgage rates in Spain tend to be lower than those in the UK. The Spanish property you are buying will be sold in Euros which means you will not know the finite price until you have bought all the Euros required for the purchase and additional fees. This is quite simply caused by the fluctuation in international currency exchange rates. If Sterling strengthens after you have agreed to buy, the property will in effect become cheaper in Sterling values. On the other hand if Sterling weakens against the Euro the price will marginally increase in Sterling values. In terms of the Euro the property price will not change. (See the Currency section).
